Community Playlist - Long Song Results!

50 big ones as crafted by you!

Last week, I asked you, the Substack community, to amend a Long Song playlist by choosing:

1. One song to add

2. One song to keep

3. One song to remove

In the previous three Community Playlists (60s, summer, women who rock) I managed to keep the playlist to 50 songs. This time, there was no such luck as so many people wanted to get rid of the same songs!

Here is the result

What was kicked out of my original long song playlist?

• Foo Fighters - Come Back. This was voted for 4 times!

• Fat Freddy’s Drop - Shiverman

• Two Gallants - Las Cruces Jail (I accidently added this onto the original playlist twice and somebody thankfully noticed!)

• Bon Iver - Re:Stacks. Chosen twice.

I also decided to kick out the following three songs because they were just under 6 minutes. As everyone else contributed songs that were always over 6 minutes, I couldn’t really justify any of my own sub-6-minute ones!

• Two Gallants - Las Cruces Jail (the second song still didn’t make the cut!)

• Midlake - Head Home

• Cowboy Junkies - A Walk in the Park

Close Call

Oasis - Champagne Supernova. This was kicked out twice but three people saved it.

Sigur Rós - Sæglópur got a vote in and out so, again, they scrape through!
