Recent and Decent Playlist

I’m still very much enjoying much of last year releases and will continue to do so for some time to come, I’m sure. As long as the songs are released within the last year, I believe I still live up to the name of Recent and Decent.

Confession time. Once, last year, I shared a song that was over one year old and only noticed weeks later. As a punishment, I flogged myself in an ice bath whilst eating out-of-date yoghurt. I can assure you it will not happen again.

• Empty Promises (Live) - Christone “Kingfish” Ingram

  • Haven't shared any sexy amazing live blues yet. Get a load of this. Phenomenal.

• Spells - Freak Slug

  • Cool, catchy, quirky indie. I’ve listened to last year’s album that this comes from. Lots of great songs on there but this pips it because of the donking cowbell. Shout out to

• DENIAL IS A RIVER - Doechii

  • I was slow to get on the Doechii train but I'm now totally on board. This song is refreshing, witty and unique. Hip-hop keeps reaching new heights.

• Loss Is Not Infinite - God Colony

  • Got a 90s electronica dance vibe to it. With a big hit of Scouse.

• Dream Bigger - Bob Vylan, Amy Taylor

  • The amazing Bob Vylan AND the amazing Amy from Amyl and the Sniffers? Yes please. Give me that raucous, riotous rock right now!

• Swamp Dream #3 - Everything Is Recorded, mary in the junkyard

  • I love the simplicity of this song (reminds me of Knocked Up by Kings of Leon) but Clari’s voice is such a great, ghostly addition to it.
